Biography
Graded in 1929 before returning to the Newtown juniors for several seasons, Allan Ellis' career did not provide many rep honours but, like his brothers Keith and Tommy, he gave great service to the Blue Bags. Ellis scored three tries in Newtown's 55-7 win over Easts in the 1937 City Cup final and played in virtually every position during his grade career. He later coached the club from 1962 to 1965.
