Biography

Canberra's 1987 grand final halfback was a tenacious competitor for his size. Henjak had five eventful seasons with the Raiders – the highlight being his clever shift of play that resulted in Chris O’Sullivan’s try in the club’s 18-8 loss to Manly in the last grand final played at the SCG. Signing on as Wests’ captain in 1990 Henjak did not fit into new coach Warren Ryan's plans and he successfully gained a release from his contract and returned to the Dragons where his career began. After a season with Hull in England in 1992-93, Henjak returned to Australia in the role of reserve grade coach of the Brisbane Broncos in 1994.
