Biography
Eldest brother of the famous Burge family from South Sydney broke his leg in his first match on the 1908 Wallaby tour. The three-Test veteran joined his brother Alby in the 'Wallabies v Kangaroos' promotion in 1909 before signing with defending premiers Souths in 1910. The 26-year-old forward linked with brothers Alby, Laidley and Frank at Glebe the following year. A 1911-12 Kangaroo, injuries restricted him to just four minor games on tour. A St George selector after his retirement, Burge succeeded his brother Frank as coach in 1937. Peter Burge passed away in 1956, aged 72.
