Biography

South African RU convert went to England in 1961 to play for Leeds. A clever ball-playing forward, Neumann was signed by Easts in 1967 and captain-coached the club in 1969 following the departure of Jack Gibson.

    louis neumann was the finest south african i ever saw who played in the blue and amber of leeds. he was a workmanlike forward who drove the ball in hard and had an eye for an opening when he was in possession of the ball. he also got through more than his fair share of tackling and for me he was a superb player
