This venue was renamed to Hearwell Stadium after a draw which was entered by 50 companies for a chance to win naming rights to the venue. The winner was drawn by Wakefield Mayor Jacqui Williams during the half time break of the 2009 Round 9 match against Bradford, and the name change officially announced on May 12.
