Michael was credited in The Sun newspaper 31/7/1978 as being used as a replacement in the St George v Penrith game in Round 19 of 1978 however research has revealed that is was Peter Fitzpatrick that took the field for the reason listed below in the anonymous comment.

    He actually never made it onto the ground. Was named on the bench from the Reserve grade but had his nose smashed in playing 2nds and was on his way to Penrith hospital when the substitute, wearing his replacement guernsey, went on for first grade.
