    John was so fast.when ever he made a break from his teams half of the field he would never sprint away, no regardless of who was chasing him even if it was the ball boy,he would just drag you along a safe distance behind to accompany him stuffed as you well may have been to the try line, on placing the ball he would just politely thank you for keeping him company.

    Born 1933; from Ungarie where he played Australian Rules and League; Temora 1955 (after he met players from there during National Service training); Lakes United 1956; Stanthorpe 1957; Temora 1958; Townsville 1959 & Queensland; Temora coach 1960 ; other clubs include Griffith 1961-63; 33 years on West Wyalong RLFC commitee; regional; state & national selector
