    I am proud to say that Alf was my grandfather, his daughter Betty being my mother. I still have the trunk he toured Australia with

    Lived in Haresfinch when i was a lad in the 60s early 70s . Great bloke , always suntanned , keen gardener had a lovely well groomed border collie. They really should make a film of that 1928 tour ,they had a few days in Hawaii i understand. Oliver Dolan hooker, was a Military Medal recipient WW1 .

    Alf had Alsatian dog called Keeper. One error I have seen he did die near Swindon but that was after getting gas gangrene and it was at the RAF hyperbaric chamber where he was taken for treatment. He in fact spent from 1939 to his desthe at 14 Hamblett Crescent Haresfinch
