Dad believed in loyalty to his club Pt Chevalier. So when he was told not to play and to save himself for the Kiwis he would not do that. A club man through and through. It ended his career as a Kiwi.
He was a loyal Pt Chev man till he retired from rugby league.
He came out of retirement to play with older brother Ronald “Red” Mac Rae and youngest brother Murdoch Mac Rae at the start up of Mangere East Rugby League club.
He was a true gentleman and a wonderful father.
