I became a friend of Dai Bevan in his retirement years in Rochdale. He was a true gentleman and, being a Warrington supporter myself, I always enjoyed reminiscing with him about his career and the times when he opposed his namesake, the legendary Brian Bevan of Warrington . It was a privilege to have known Dai.
