This is my Dad Bill Eddy - in the Waratah Mayfield vs Newton game at the SCG of 1945 - he was belted by Bumper Farrell in the scrum and suffered a bad gash from one side of his eye socket to the other ...... the doctor stitched him up (badly) on the sideline - he didnt get back on the field and he had a bad scar from that hit for the rest of his life. He didnt like Newtown or Bumper !! RIP Dad - he passed in 2008 and I miss him every day - he was a Real Man's Man.
