Biography

Bundaberg winger came to Norths from Brisbane Valleys in 1986. In a remarkable debut season, Kiss' two tries in a beaten Queensland side saw him selected for Australia in the Second Test against NZ following an injury to Dale Shearer. He responded to the challenge by setting up two brilliant tries early in the first half to give Australia a 12-0 lead. Following two Test appearances against NZ, he was chosen to tour with the Kangaroos at year's end but after Tests against Papua New Guinea and Great Britain, he suffered a serious knee injury in a tour match against Widnes. After first delaying his return to Australia, Kiss' recovery was long and painful. While his Test career may have ended, he successfully resumed his first grade career with the Bears, even making his way back into Queensland's State of Origin team in 1990, before announcing his retirement at the end of the 1993 season. In 1999, Kiss took over as caretaker coach of the London Broncos.
