Biography

Son of former 1963-64 Kangaroo forward Graham Wilson alternated between hooker and winger during his early career in which he was named ‘Dally M’ Rookie of the Year in 1987. A talented goal-kicker who represented NSW as a reserve in 1989, Alan Wilson was controversially cut by Cronulla at the end of 1991. Signing with Norths, he was a try-scorer in the Bears' reserve grade grand final victory in 1992 but returned to the Sharks the following year. Playing lock, Wilson captained Cronulla's reserve grade team in its grand final win over Newcastle, his third lower grade premiership in as many years.
