Biography

Marist Brothers Kogarah product overcame a fractured vertebra in his neck to play in over 100 grade games for the Dragons. Armstrong became the club's top hooker immediately after the retirement of Ken Kearney and played in St George's grand final win over Wests in 1961. Armstrong sought a release from the club when it signed Test rake Ian Walsh in 1962 but stayed with the Dragons for three more seasons and deputised for Walsh in St George’s gr4and final win over Balmain in 1964.
