Biography

Queensland RU Schoolboy rep (1986-87) played for Wynnum-Manly before being graded by the Broncos from their Colts team in 1990. Plath had a season with the London Crusaders in 1991-92 but his utility value (as either a back or forward) saw him on the interchange bench in the Broncos' grand final wins over St George in 1992-93. The following year, he was a replacement player in Brisbane's 20-14 loss to Wigan in the World Club Challenge at Lang Park. Plath was also used from the bench in Brisbane’s win over Cronulla in Super League’s 1997 Telstra Cup grand final before keeping his big-game interchange reputation intact with a cameo role in the Bronco’s grand final win against C’bury in 1998.
