Biography

Campbelltown junior, the son of former Canberra hooker Jay Hoffmann, first came under notice as an Australian Schoolboy representative in 2002. Signing with the Storm, Hoffmann earned a reputation as a mobile back-rower from the interchange bench in his first season with the club but continued to grow in confidence as a strong attacking player during the 2004 season. In 2006 he was in the Storm second row in the club’s 15-8 grand final loss to Brisbane.

I have a lot of respect for Ryan I was sorry he decided to cross the ditch and hope he will end his career back in AUSTRALIA.. His Dad was a great bloke and greatly
appreciated by the Canberra Raiders. Ryan has followed a different path but has to be equally respected. Best wishes Ryan.

Ryan Hoffman was a great player for his respective clubs, state and country. The Melbourne Storm had just beat the NZ Warriros 50-6 in rd 7 of this revised season because of COVID-19. Hoffman (now apart of the Melbourne coaching staff), Craig Bellamy and Captain Cameron Smith spoke to the Warriors after the game to ease the pain of the heavy loss and the recent sacking of Stephen Kearney. Hoffman is a man of substance and good character. Talking to his old club after the match to check up on them is an example of what type of person Ryan Hoffman is. Great Bloke, Great Player.
