Biography

Flashy, blond-haired fullback grabbed a piece of rugby league history when he came on a replacement for Cronulla in the 1973 grand final and dived over to score the club's sole try in the 10-7 loss to Manly. Five years later Bourke was on the wing in the Sharks' second grand final appearance, which finished in a draw, but switched to fullback for the replay. A Cronulla junior, Bourke spent a decade at the club before playing one final season with Souths in 1983. Bourke passed away in 2006, aged 51.

    A great player. He went to school at Endevour High where my father taught him.
    He played with the Sharks alongside his maths teacher Johhny Maguire. A sad loss.

    All Sharks fans no Rick and remember him very well he played with his heart I never saw him have bad game his standard was always high. I will never forget a true Sharks Legend.
