Biography

Brisbane forward represented Queensland against NSW in 1973 after first playing for Queensland Colts. Khan spent a season with Brisbane Norths where he was recommended to Cronulla by his coach Tom Bishop. A thick-set, bullocking style of prop played for Castleford in 1976-77 before he returned to play in the Sharks' two grand final appearances during 1978 (the 11-all draw against Manly and the 16-0 loss in the replay). A NSW rep in 1978 and for Queensland in a State of Origin match in 1981, Khan returned to Brisbane Easts in 1982 and played in three State of Origin matches that year.

Check Brisbane Easts Tigers for Paul Khan early career - starting 1969 - as Tigers player 604, same year as John Lang Tigers player 606.
I think he went from Brisbane Easts to Cronulla - query statement on playing for Brisbane Norths.
I was an Easts Tigers supporter from late 1960s and recently did some googling of John Lang after seeing him Int the street.
I think the rugby league project is excellent - first found googling Keith Harris NSW player of 70s with whom I worked recently.
Would love to see greater recognition of the Bridbane club records pre Broncos 1988 - it was a strong competition - great season summary book Our Game for that period

Probably the most underrated forward of his time. Amazing balls skills, hard to tackle and was a key forward when scrums were important, Paul and Johnny Mac with Dane was the best scrum winning front row of all time. RIP Johnny btw... It was a pleasure to watch him play..... not too many forwards had his ball skills during a time when RUNNING Hard and bulldozing the halves over and over again. Sure, plenty hit hard, but he was one of the best forwards in the game.
