Biography

NZ centre/forward holds the distinction of being called into the Kiwis’ ANZac Test team in 2000 while playing First Division with the Eels. Kidwell, who was a late replacement for injured C’bury centre Willie Talau, missed P’matta’s grand final loss to Newcastle the following year due to injury. After a season with 2002 premiers the Roosters, in which he could not break into the club’s run-on team, Kidwell joined Warrington. Released by the club early in the English Super League season he gave good service to the Melbourne Storm as an aggressive second row forward. Kidwell played an important part in NZ’s victory over Australia in the 2005 Tri-Nations final and after playing for the Storm’s 15-8 grand final loss to Brisbane, he again played for his country in 2006. Kidwell’s high hit on opposing Australia forward Willie Mason ignited international tensions but the veteran Kiwi forward announced his international retirement after Australia’s win in extra-time in the Tri-Nations final. Kidwell joined Souths in 2007.

Your Say

  • Peter B
    23/08/2012

As a non playing member of the roosters roster he still received the championship ring. Indecently, over the team he is being touted to potentially coach. Love to see him come home and give our warriors a taste of real WARRIOR spirit. Some nice homes up ww by the cuzzies my bro.
