  seen bill play his first couple of matches for easts in 2nd grade,he did not stay there too long.big and fast,should have played rep football.i think i was at the showground when they played i think a possibles versus probables when he dived for a tackle and i believe his opponents boot hit him in the jaw and broke it.a wonderful and exciting player for easts for many years.

  He was brilliant to watch ,very fast who won Tasmanias richest pro footrace Bernie Gift, had great side step.he is one of the games best wingers of all time.he would have played many tests if not for injury.I saw him every sunday going to the shops in Bondi road where i lived.Great player so was his brother Russel and son .

  Was a great footballer but a better drinker of schooners and his drive home from wombat pub after 30 schooners while coaching the cherry pickers is legendary

  My Mother Married Bills Father Pat, In 1978, The Same Year That Bill , Left Eastern Suburbs. We Were At His Last Game, Against Manly, At Sydney Sports Ground. Bill Was A Wonderful, Big Fast Winger. Because , My Then Stepfather, Came On The Scene, In 1975, I Basically Started Following Rugby League. This Is Why I Love , The Game’s History. Bills Brother Russell, Was Pretty Good Too. I Have Fond Memories, Of Bill Scoring, Three Tries , Against Canterbury, At Sydney Sports Ground, In 1976. In The Same Year , On The 1st August, At Lidcombe Oval, Russell Scored Three Tries, Against Parramatta, Winning, 17-5. The Same Day, My Stepfather, Introduced Me , To John Peard. What Wonderful Memories !!!!!!!
