  mark came to prominence at easts i believe about the same time as bill mullins.what a giant player for the opposition to handle.at the old sports ground one day he feigned to hit a player but was joking but the opposition player fell down anyway.who wouldnt.never realised how big he was until i was standing next to him one day at sydney airport.prodigious kicker of the ball.

  Mark Harris was a man mountain who was a mercurial type of player - at his best devastating,
  but much maligned by commentators (esp Rex Mossop) when his mistake rate soared as was regularly the case. Played in the centre by Easts to great effect, but curiously picked solely on the wing for Australia. This was a real misuse by the selectors as the sight of him charging at the (then quite small) English centres would have been a vision splendour.
  
  Harris was a prodigious dropkicker of the ball. One drop-out from the goal-line, that I witnessed, reached the opposition's 20m line on the fly!

  I was a friend of Marks back in Montreal Alouettes. I would love to say hi but do not know how. He was a great player in Canada he thought nothing could hurt him with all the equipement. Maybe some one could give him my Email and he could do with it whatever. Your Canadian Team Mate Glen

  Marc (Marcus) actually played under 20 for Brothers St Brendans in Brisbane in 1964 and 1965. Both years we were beaten by Brothers in the Grand final. Please list him as playing for Brothers St Brendans in future. He also played under 14 for Souths Coopers Plains & Districts RLFC in 1958 and 1959. While he was very confident in his own ability he was never a lair and never got into any trouble off the field. It was great to have him in your team.

  Mark played at St peters College in his school days and was part of the 1963 premiership team . Mark was the ultimate sportsman and could have excelled at cricket or tennis . A brilliant kicker he was great in attack and well remembered by his school mates ..

I think Mark played for Australia , about the same time as my cousin , Lloyd Weier , front rower , formerly of Goomeri , Queensland.

  Very sad to hear of Mark Harris’s passing our thoughts are passed on to his family and friends.
  My dad was part of the team that Mark started his career with at Coopers Plains then Brothers St Brendans, Dad said Mark would be one of the great footballers one day and that he certainly was . Mark never forgot my Dad Eddie Pearen and when my Dad turned 80 Mark sent a beautiful card with meaningful words which meant a lot to my Dad it bought back so many memories to a man that gave so much to Junior cricket and football over the years , thank you Mark for taking the time to help make him feel special hope you get to catch up with him on that big football field in the sky .   I remember one day. He took a tap from a penalty near the sideline and threw the ball clear to the other sideline to try and catch Wests out. Trouble was the hang time. By the time Bill Mullins finally caught the ball he got absolutely smashed by 4 players lol

  Ive just watched 1975 1st Test Aust v Poms 10 All draw Mark got an elbow to the face while falling in a tackle such foul play and it ended his game this was possibly the incident what destroyed his nose
  He was on the wing that day but he was a truly great centre ????
