Match Notes

Alan Katzmann notes that the SMH, Sunday Times and Evening News have named Sandy Pearce as hooker for this match. Pearce was also in the originally selected line-up that appears in Rugby League News. However, it appears that S. Ward, who was to play two City Cup games for Easts in 1921, was a late replacement for Pearce, not picked up by a number of papers. However, 'The Referee' did pick it up.

There are a couple of references to Easts’ team being almost unrecognisable from the one that started the season and one of the reports made that point specifically about the forward pack. If Pearce did play, the front row of Williams, Pearce and Lees would not have been any different from the regular line-up.

Note: Forward packs are listed in reverse order.
