Match Notes

"The ABC Of Rugby League" incorrectly lists the same team for this game as the following test. According to the Sydney Morning Herald (May 31, 1980), the team was (sic):
Dowling, Anderson, Cronin, Brentnall, Boustead, Thompson, Raudonokis; Price, Boyd, Reddy, Young, Peponis (c), Morris. Reserves: Steve Martin, Graeme Wynn.
The article also noted that selectors preferred "proven test player" Les Boyd over newcomer Graeme Wynn for the match.
Also the Monday edition of the Herald confirmed there were no substitutions during the match. Kevin Tamati and Les Boyd were at loggerheads and were "lucky not to be sent off".
It also declared Garry Dowling as the best on ground.
