Full Name
Mark Edward Broadhurst

Biography

Tough as nails Kiwi forward, a veteran of 17 Tests from 1979 to 1983, made his Test debut against the touring Australian squad in 1980. Broadhurst joined Manly the following year and was sent off in the fiery semi-final clash against Newtown. Broadhurst left the club at the end of the 1982 season after failing to secure a place in Manly's semi-final side and was signed by battlers I’warra. Broadhurst showed his value by playing in every match during the 1983 season but joined countrymen Gary Prohm and Gordon Smith at English club Hull KR at year's end. Returning to NZ Broadhurst captain-coached Papanui in 1986 and even played lower grades in Christchurch between 1992 and 2002.
