Biography
NZ ‘All Golds’ Pioneer appeared in six Tests for the Kiwis during 1907-09. Con Byrne, a massively framed second row forward with a surprising turn of pace, captained the Kiwis in three Tests in Australia in 1909 before playing for Norths in 1910 alongside former Kiwi team-mate Con Sullivan. At the end of the year Byrne signed with English club Huddersfield. He returned to Wellington in 1913 and toured Australia for a third time, when no Tests were played.
