Biography

Newcastle five-eighth came from relative obscurity to play for NSW and snare the pivot position in the First Test against Great Britain in 1966. Australia lost the match 17-13 and despite scoring a belated try, Banks was replaced by Brisbane's John Gleeson for the remaining Tests in the series (which Australia won). Banks later played for Norths.
