Biography

Kiwi international played in the shock 24-3 win over Australia at Carlaw Park in 1971. A strongly-built centre Lowther joined C’bury the following year but seemed to lack enthusiasm after being plagued with a series of injuries. After missing out on a place in C’bury’s 1974 grand final campaign Lowther signed with Souths. He later played for Brisbane Easts and coached Ipswich Brothers in 1981.

Your Say

Anonymous says: As a kid i remember bernie as a intercept intercept specialist. (08/05/2015)

Ernie ball says: I am 80yrs of age and been a player and league tragic since I was 15.i recall Bernie as a player befor he played for the Kiwis.i remember as a solid and exciting centre. He impressed me to the extent that I have considered him one of our best Kiwis in the position. I was also very disappointed at the time when he crossed the ditch o early in his international carrier. Cheers Bernie. (24/08/2016)
