Biography

Former Australian Schoolboy rep (1986) transferred to Brisbane from Beaudesert in 1989 and represented his state the following year. Gee was rewarded after his strong display in the 1991 State of Origin series with selection on the Australian tour of Papua New Guinea. Unfortunately, he made just one appearance before being injured and also met a similar fate the following season. The Brisbane prop played just seven matches and was left out of the starting line up that won the grand final over St George but was a member of the Bronco side that won the World Club Championship against Wigan. Gee was a reserve when the club won back-to-back premierships in 1993 but overcame a lengthy suspension at the beginning of the 1994 season to take his place in the side that lost the World Club Challenge to Wigan, 20-14, at ANZ Stadium in June. Gee toiled with the Broncos through the club’s domination of the 1997 Super League season and took his place in the champion Brisbane team that won the 1998 grand final. He left the club at the end of 1999 to join Warrington but returned to the Broncos, along with former captain Allan Langer, for the 2002 season. Gee finished his career in 2003 – the year he also made the State of Origin team some 13 years after his first rep match.

Wasn't bad at cricket either. Played a brilliant innings in the last match of an intra-state Under 12 Carnival to lift South East Queensland to the title win. Always followed his league career and enjoyed watching him play. Former Cricket Coach.
