Biography
Tony Paskins went straight from Randwick's RU ranks to English club football and despite never playing for Australia he is regarded as one of the best centres to emerge in the era immediately after the war. Paskins played for Workington Town (Cumbria) in England after being discovered by 1946 Lions tour captain Gus Risman. He went on to play in the club's Challenge Cup win in 1952 and also represented Other Nationalities. Paskins returned to Australia to captain Easts in 1955 and represented NSW the following year against NZ. As captain-coach of Oberon in Western NSW he led Country to shock wins over City in 1961-62 and captained NSW against Great Britain in the latter year. Unfortunately he was not chosen in the Test sides that year and later came to Manly (captain-coach in 1963) before returning to the country to play for Narrabri. Paskins coached Easts in 1973 following the departure of Don Furner for Queanbeyan.

Your Say

one of the very best rugby league player coaches to play in the country and he definitely put OBERON on the map

I rememember him for Oberon and NSW Country, big, strong with a sidestep in the Langlands class.

Definitely the best player coaches in country NSW taking Oberon to group 10 premierships, Western Division to victory over all the other devisions including Newcastle then country wins over City 1961/62 and that was before Origin, it was a pleasure to watch him play the game
