Biography

St George five-eighth, the son of former P’matta player Rolph Trudgett and originally from Oberon, had seasons with Thirroul and Corrimal in the I’warra competition and with Workington Town in England before joining the Dragons in 1978. Trudgett was a member of the club's 1979 grand final team that defeated C’bury 17-13. He represented NSW against Great Britain in 1979 and against Queensland in a non-State of Origin match at Leichhardt Oval in 1980. Trudgett played for Yenda in 1984 before adding much needed depth to the Penrith club that was going through a revival under coach Tim Sheens in the mid-1980s. Trudgett took on a player-coach role with Nambucca Heads in 1986.
