Biography

Pacy Knights winger scored a club record 21 tries in the 2002 season, beating his own record set two years before. Although Tahu was eligible to play for NZ because his father is a Kiwi he declared his availability for NSW in 2001 and made his State of Origin and Australian Test debuts the following year. A try-scorer in the Knight’s 30-24 win over P’matta in the 2001 grand final he also scored a try in his Test debut in the record 64-10 win over Great Britain in July 2002. Tahu scored tries in each of his three Test appearances during the next twelve months but injuries ruled him out of consecutive tours of England in 2003-04. Dropped from the NSW team after the Blues’ loss in the second match of the 2004 series he signed a contract to play with P’matta in 2005. There his good form, and rep career, continued. Tahu represented NSW in both seasons and scored two tries in Australia’s 50-12 win over NZ in May 2006. An injury later in the season ended any hopes of adding to his Test record in the Tri-Nations competition.
