Biography

St George junior, a 1985 Australian Schoolboy rep on the tour of NZ, joined the Dragons after a season with Newcastle in 1991. Herron, who possessed one of the most unusual kicking styles in the game, landed one goal from the wing in the 28-8 grand final loss to Brisbane but then scored all his team’s points (3g) in the 14-6 loss the following year. Herron later played for Balmain and P’matta before moving to England to play with Gateshead. At Hull in 2000 he represented Ireland in the World Cup.
