Biography

Wainuiomata prop came to Canberra from NZ club C’bury in 1993. Lomax made four Test appearances that year - as a reserve against Australia, and on the Kiwi tour of Great Britain and France. After a fine 1994 season in which he added much-needed respect to Canberra's forward pack, Lomax was sent off in Canberra's final win over Norths for a high tackle and missed the grand final. His one-match suspension was a cruel blow, forcing him to watch the Raiders' 36-12 win over C’bury from the stands after the NSWRL rejected his appeal. Lomax, who in 1996 was sent off for a tackle that ultimately ended the promising career of Adam Ritson, later joined former Raiders coach Tim Sheens with the North Queensland North Queensland.
