Biography

Robust Taranaki centre/five-eighth made his Kiwi Test debut in 1999 after starring for the Bulldogs in the club’s run to the grand final the previous year. Talau represented NZ in the 2000 World Cup but a broken ankle in 2003 saw him make his comeback in the Bulldogs’ First Division team (he was selected as NZ five-eighth in the ANZac Test that year despite not playing first grade). Talau later joined St Helens in the 2003 Super League season and scored two tries when Saints defeated Wigan 32-16 in the 2004 English Challenge Cup.
