Biography

Kiwi Test forward, a former centre in Auckland and Manly’s lower grades (1995-97) came off the interchange bench in Melbourne’s 1999 grand final win. Rua represented NZ in five World Cup matches in 2000 and playing in the second row in the Kiwis’ 40-12 loss to Australia in the final. The 11 Test-veteran left Melbourne at the end of the 2002 season after being largely used as an interchange player.
