Biography

Brisbane hooker came to Norths in 1988 and captained the club during the successful 1991 season when the Bears made the final. A resourceful player with a good kicking game, he broke his leg at the beginning of the 1992 season and his immediate playing future was threatened by stress fractures in his shin. Rea found his place as No.1 rake at Norths taken over by Mark Soden in 1994 and successfully gained a release from the final year of his contract to play in England with the London Broncos. After a period in administration with the club, Rae was appointed coach of the London club.
