Biography

Brother of Brett French made 10 State of Origin appearances while playing for Wynnum-Manly in the Brisbane competition in 1985-86 and again after moving to Norths in 1987. The second rower, who was man-of-the-match in the third interstate game in 1985, also had stints with Castleford (scoring a club record 5 tries in a Challenge Cup match against Hunslet in February 1986) and Doncaster in England.

    Played with Ian from School Days at Iona College Brisbane before he left for Wynnum North High also fortunate to play with Ian at Wynnum Manly Juniours from 73-78 before moving into seniors , Ian was a natural and was always destined for High level , played some games against him as well with him at First Grade Level in BRL , Champion player and all round nice guy , did plenty surfing together as Teenagers with bunch of mates as well
