I played alongside John when we represented the Australian Police Rugby League team that toured the Cook Islands in 2004. He was a very inspirational captain & leader that knew how to get the very best out of you. He made my debut one of the greatest days of my life.

John also played a little bit of Rugby Union for Newcastle when they competed in the Sydney competition, this must of been in the late 1990s'. I watched him on an ABC broadcast, he was having the biggest impact on that game of all players.

John also played as captain coach of Willagee RLFC in Perth and later joined Applecross RLFC.
He joined the police force in WA, something he had wished to do for years..
He was involved with Fremantle RLFC in some capacity,
Not sure what he is currently doing.
Hope he is doing well.

John could have possibly been one of the best sportsman Newcastle has produced. He played 1st grade rugby league rugby union and also first grade cricket for many years for Stockton. He represented Newcastle at the highest level in all these sports. The Hunter sports academy have to consider him for the hall of fame. If they want to Acknowledge An excellent sportsman.
He apparently is now a a sergeant of police in WA.
