Jeff Bell, Tony Brenton & Denis O'Callaghan replaced Stan Gorton, Tony Branson & Barry Beath in the St.George team due to injury, Brandley moved to wing and Bell to the centre.

Barry Smith replaced Kevin Goldspink in the first half with a bad knee injury then Col Greenwood left the field with 15 mins remaining also with a bad knee injury both were expected to be out for a number of weeks.
