Penrith lost both Moran brothers from the centre, winger Len Killeen & Dennis Tutty they were replaced by Reg Walton, Dave Irvine & Noel Sing in the backs & Tim Sheens in the forwards. McKechnie moved from 5/8 to centre, Applebee from wing to cenre with Walton & Irvine the new wingers then Olejarnik from half to 5/8 and Sing the new half, in the forwards Lynch moved from prop to 2nd row & Tim Sheens the new prop.
Phil Smith pulled out of the Souths team on Friday still with a hamstring injury and was replaced by Steve Kosta.
David Applebee had to leave the field early in the 2nd half with a stomach problem & was replaced by Ron Carrige.
Bob Broad had to be replaced early in the 2nd half with a head injury & was replaced by Gordon Fraser.
