Biography

Youngest of the second generation of three Hughes brothers to play for the C’bury club cemented the first grade halfback role in 1998. Corey Hughes, who formed a particularly effective partnership with brother Glen as well as complementing the good form of veteran five-eighth Craig Polla-Mounter, took his place in the Bulldog team beaten by Brisbane in the 1998 grand final. He later shifted to hooker and gave great service to the club during the ensuing seasons although he ultimately lost the starting hooker role to Adam Perry in 2003. Hughes was used effectively from the interchange bench when the Bulldogs won the 2004 grand final.
