Biography
The older brother of Ray Lindwall, Jack Lindwall was a brilliant attacking centre/winger with the Dragons during the 1940s. The scorer of over a century of tries for his club, he crossed for five tries in a match on five different occasions during his career. Lindwall played in the club's 1942 and 1946 grand final losses and was a try-scorer in both matches - his two tries against Balmain in 1946 took St George to within a point of victory. Lindwall scored a club record six tries against Manly in 1947 and his 9 goals took his individual total to a record 36pts. He retired in 1949 as the greatest try-scorer in the club's history, until surpassed by Johnny King. Lindwall passed away in 2000, aged 82.
