Don was my wife's Grandad, unfortunately I never had the pleasure of meeting him myself as he sadly passed away in 1998. From what I have been told and from studying his career he was a real great, and very much loved not just by his family but the Fartown/Huddersfield supporters alike. It was a travesty that Don never managed more than the one GB cap he gained against France in 1967 but at least he did represent his country. A great family man and great Rugby League player, he is missed by family, friends and supporters of both Fartown and Allerton Bywater where he started his career.
