    Very unlucky not to have played more test matches and his omission from the 1967 kangaroo side puzzled many after test appearances against NZ that year

    Allan went on to play for Tumbarumba in Group 13. He was still playing Reserve Grade in 1975.

    Allan was the first coach for the Newcastle University Rugby League team. A gentleman of the first order and a great mentor for those of us who played under him. We were very fortunate to have a man of his caliber to guide us in the early years.
