Biography
C’bury junior played with Wentworthville in Sydney's Second Division before signing with Easts in 1974. A tough hooker who compensated for any lack of natural ability with pure hard work and determination, Mountier left the club for Dapto in 1975 where he represented NSW Country against NZ, and I’warra against Great Britain. Balmain beat defending premiers Easts to his signature in 1976 and he toured NZ with a Combined Sydney side at the end of the year. Mountier found his way back to Easts in 1978 but was cut from the club's 13 import list when the Roosters decided to sign Brisbane Easts' Test rake John Lang. Mountier went on to prove his career longevity with Wests in the early 1980s.
