Steve along with Don Mckinnon gave the Bears pack a massive look with their size and physical strength, drove the team forward. In 1982 when Mitchell Cox joined they had a great year as he backed them up and made many breaks! underrated player

Played lower grades with Souths before joining Norths. Also played for Helensburgh in the Illawarra competition in 1976.
