Biography
P’matta junior spent three seasons with Balmain (the first as a member of the club's U23's premiers) before moving back to the Eels in 1976. Levy was a former centre who played much of his career with P’matta at fullback (in the 1977 grand final though, he was stand-in five-eighth when John Peard withdrew). Released from the club by Jack Gibson before the 1981 season, he signed with Penrith. A fine goal-kicker, Levy also had the ability to chime into the attack and cover-defend but was denied the chance to play his 100th game for Penrith when kept on the bench for club's historic semi-final appearance in 1985. After a short time with the ABC as a commentator, the former teacher joined P’matta as assistant to Chief Executive Denis Fitzgerald before rejoining Penrith at the end of 1994. Levy was Penrith Chief Executive during the club’s move to Super League in 1997 but was sacked after the club finished with the wooden spoon in 2001.

A wonderful player, professional teacher, excellent commentator, capable administrator and a truly great and humble person.
Was unlucky to be playing in the era of Graham Eadie and Greg Brentnall....otherwise he would have represented Australia with distinction.

Fantastic teacher, a true gem of a gentleman, a brilliant league mind, and according to my grandfather if it weren't for once-in-a-generation players who played at the same time as him, he would have walked into any representative side. Would have loved to hear him commentate or simply watch him in his prime. Deserves more recognition from the wider NRL.
