Biography

Cronulla junior, a capable five-eighth, centre or fullback, played winger for much of his career. Raftery went to NZ with a Combined Sydney side in 1976 and it was while on this tour that he talked opposing Auckland forward Kurt Sorensen into joining the Sharks. Raftery was later the St George club doctor.
