Biography
Souths junior was named RLW's Rookie of the Year in 1971 but after being cut from the club, joined Newtown the following year on the recommendation of Bob McCarthy. Despite being once described as having the build of a greyhound, 'Bubsy' Floyd was an exciting attacking player at fullback and had a tremendous 1973 season - the year Newtown won the minor premiership under coach Jack Gibson. He captained the club during the late 1970s before returning to Souths for the final season of his career.

Left Souths during 1979 to play for Illawarra Collegians.

Played for Illawarra Collegians after leaving Souths. Team mates included Fred Pagano ex Cronulla, Newtown and Souths, Bob McMillan ex Souths and coached by Clarrie Jeffreys ex Newtown coach. The Dawson twins from Newtown also played there.

Gained a release from Souths during the 1979 season to played for Illawarra Collegians where the coach was Clarrie Jefferies who coached Newtown in 1974-76.
