Graham Mayhew was a tough forward, who played prop and second row. He ran hard and tackled hard as well. He is credited with 5 trys in his career at Eastern Suburbs and Balmain. He told myself and his son, Adam, recently that he didnt score any in 1st grade.
Little does he know that I have personal records, written by the hand of a child (my own) indicating that he, in fact, scored more than he is credited for.
Retired and pushing 70 years of age, Graham is keeping fit surfing on his body board, recently at Snapper Rocks and the Superbank on the Gold Coast on holiday from Sydney.
    A good man indeed.

Love Graham’s story of when he was coached by Jack Gibson and playing against St George. Gibson went to each player with advice on how to play against their particular opponent. When he came to Graham, who was playing against Dick Huddart, he just said “good luck”.

These days Graham is a member of Bexley golf club where plays 2 or 3 times a week.
He’s getting on but still give ball a good whack and walks the hillly course.
    Still a fit bloke!
I remember watching him playing for the roosters when I was young kid
